he's the author of love. yet he hurt. he hurt to the point of death. why is it that we try to escape any trace of pain in love?
i was talking with a friend who's terrified to make himself available to love again. not because he's afraid to, or even that he was hurt the last time he opened himself to the idea of love. he's afraid to hurt again. isn't that how everything works? we don't grab the flame of a candle, because we did one time, and it burnt us. that flame is captivating, and when handled correctly, a flame can do amazing things. when handled incorrectly, it can be devistating. this, to me, is kind of like love.
i think love needs to be handled with a little more awareness than our society leads us to believe.
my friends, don't walk away from love because of past pain. instead, learn and try again. after all, pain was all Christ new when he died on that cross. he prepared himself for pain, to get one point across.
