Sunday Morning

This Sunday I had another opportunity to lead worship for Shift, our middle school ministry at Northwoods Church. Potentially, it could have been a rough morning. My acoustic guitar crapped out on me, and the day previously, I accidentally sliced the tip of my middle finger with a razor knife. Small deep cuts + small steel strings = PAIN!

I decided to lead worship with my newly bought flying V electric guitar. Not the best rhythm guitar, but I had to make it work. Worship was so much fun. I was able to implement some creative ideas and engage the students in worship. I've got to say tho, I couldn't have done it without my team!

It was a blessing to have such a talented group of young musicians! Conner, my lead guitar player, was tearin' it up! He knew what he had to play, and he played it! Tyler was playing rhythm electric guitar. He carried the band when I wasn't playing! Brock was the oldest, and it was awesome to have him on bass! He created a sweet little reggae bass line for one of the songs, which made that creative element AWESOME! Last, but not least, Blake on drums. I've had the opportunity to lead with him before, and this time was a blast! He's definately improved his drumming skills, and he ROCKED the house!

It's awesome to worship with students. It's inspiring to watch our students become cultivated into our future leaders! These students are learning things that I wish I would've learned at their age! Not to mention, they're worshipping with their whole heart! Totally Inspiring!

I look forward to see what other opportunities God has in store for me!
